Tonight is the night.
The town hall meeting pertaining to the synthetic drug issue will be held at Borger High School to accommodate the large crowd that is expected for the event. The event time is 6:30 p.m. this evening. The meeting will be a time of discussion and information for local citizens about the problem of synthetic drugs and what is being done at the federal and state levels.
There will also be a question and answer session so citizens who have questions can ask them and the Borger City Council will do its best to answer those questions. A presentation will be given by Scott Gordon on synthetic drugs, and law enforcement will be there to give their perspective on the matter. Dennis Jack, CEO of Golden Plains Community Hospital, will also have representatives there from the hospital with some figures and numbers.
A testimony will be given by Brandon Gibbs, son of Robert and April Gibbs, who attempted to take his own life while under the influence of synthetic drugs.
The Borger News-Herald will be in attendance at the meeting and will have coverage on the web later this evening and in the Friday edition of the paper.
