Suspicious death under investigation

December 5, 2011

The Carson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death reported in Fritch.
The Fritch Police Department and Fritch EMS were first to arrive at 418 Boyd, the home of 57 year-old Larry Ewing King at 4:04 p.m. Friday following a 9-1-1 call from a relative to King.
Officers found King dead in a bedroom at the residence. Justice of the Peace Jean Hardman pronounced King dead at the scene around 5:32 p.m.
An autopsy was scheduled to decide the cause of death. The autopsy was in Lubbock at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011. Carson County Chief Deputy Loren Brand stated that King was on parole from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division for many offenses, including a parole violation on an original charge of Aggravated Robbery in Randall County. That charge carried a 20-year sentence.
Brand stated, “There was no signs of trauma, body wounds, or forced entry. It could be a suspicious death because there are some circumstances suspected. We are just waiting for the preliminary results.”
Anyone with information about Mr. King’s recent activities call Chief Deputy Brand at (806) 537-2105.
