Stinnett preparing for its annual celebration

August 14, 2012

It’s just a few more weeks until Stinnett’s annual community celebration.
This year’s theme is “Home Is Where The Heart Is.”
Gather your family and head out for some fun at the Stinnett Celebration on September 6, 2012.
The celebration includes a community picnic at the Stinnett City Park before the lighting of the big “WT” at 6 p.m.
On September 7, residents will gather for the West Texas homecoming game and on September 8 the parade and festivities will take place.
The parade line up will be at 10 a.m. and the parade begins at 11 a.m. on Main Street. There will also be a horseshoe tournament held by Helen’s Kids. Sign ups for this will start at noon and the tournament will begin at 1 p.m. The participation fee is $20 a team.
Also, from 9 p.m. to midnight will be the street dance and the Brison Bursey Band is performing a jaunty mix of Texas country and southern rock, heartbreak ballads and three-part harmonies.
This musician from Quanah, Texas, also draws from country, indie, pop, and even gospel.
See www.brisonbursey.com to learn more about the band and call Lori Beagle at 806-275-0620, Crystal Rogers at 806-395-3698, or Lora Dodson at 806-898-2984 for information about the Stinnett Celebration.
