On Wednesday evening, the Borger Bulldogs struggled early in their 8-3 loss to the Pampa Harvesters in District 1-3A play.
The Harvesters racked up all eight of their runs by the top of the fourth inning, while the Bulldogs didn’t get a base hit until the third inning.
The Harvesters opened the game scoring three runs in the top of the first inning.
Pampa pitcher James Thompson had a solid outing on the mound going seven innings giving up three runs on five hits.
The Bulldogs tried to rally late by scoring three runs in the fifth and sixth innings on RBI hits by Ben Sharp and Grant Boren. But a late rally for the comeback win was not going to happen for the Bulldogs on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs go to 2-1 in district play, while Pampa improves to 3-0.
The Bulldogs return to district play on Friday afternoon when they host the Dalhart Golden Wolves beginning at noon at Huber Park.
