Satellite Workshop holding open house

August 27, 2012

The Borger Satellite Workshop is preparing for an upcoming open house event.
The event will be held at 28 Pantex Street in Borger from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. Admission is $5 a person and this will provide the attendees either with a hamburger or hot dogs with all of the fixings, chips, and a drink.
Lorna Heare, director of the workshop, said there will be a silent auction on donated items from various companies in the Borger area, and there will also be games for the whole family.
The event is to raise funds for the Hutchinson County United Way.
Heare said it is an event that will be used to get information out to the community about the activities of the workshop.
“This will also increase public awareness of the Borger Satellite Workshop and its value to our community,” she said.
“The BSW is a facility for adults with mental and physical disabilities to come and work on life skills.”
Donations for the event have been provided by Chevron Phillips, Zachry, Serco, Minton’s Flowers by Kristi, Crown Supply, Odis McClellan, Morton Lumber, The Plaza, Pizza Duo, Keltex, Brown’s Funeral Home and Flowers, Mr. Treat, Top Notch, Audrain’s Heating & Air, Revelations Chiropractic Care, United Supermarket, J.C. Berry, Shannon’s Restaurant, Walmart, the Borger Satellite Workshop Advisory Board, and many more.
