Rowh will not seek reelection as Sheriff

November 30, 2011

Guy Rowh, Hutchinson County Sheriff

Hutchinson County Sheriff Guy Rowh will not be seeking reelection in 2012.
Rowh has announced his intentions to retire from the position. He was first elected Sheriff in November of 2000. He became a deputy for Hutchinson County in 1977 and remained in that position until 1996, when he left and took a law enforcement position with the City of Borger. He later took a position with Pantex as a security officer until the 2000 elections.
Rowh said his choice to retire was not an easy one to make.
“The decision not to run for reelection was a difficult one for me and my family, but my wife Danna and I have longtime dreams being fulfilled,” he said.
Rowh said leaving the Sheriff’s Office was hard because of the trust and privilege the citizens and his employees gave him to serve as their Sheriff.
“My law enforcement career has been rewarding, as well as difficult at times,” he said. “My hope is that I have been the Sheriff that the citizens expected me to be and that I leave the Sheriff’s Office functioning well and protecting and serving Hutchinson County as it should.”
He said he has made numerous, lasting friendships and was glad to be a servant of Hutchinson County.
“I would like to say thank you for the respect, trust, support, and confidence placed in me since my election in 2000,” Rowh said.
