Robbery suspect sought
The Borger Police Department and Hutchinson County Crime Stoppers are needing the help of the community in solving an aggravated robbery that occurred last Friday. On Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, a female victim, who was not identified, was at a garage sale in the 300 block of North Harvey Street. As she was getting ready to leave, she was approached by a black male identified as wearing a white t-shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes. The black male suspect offered to help the victim load her purchased items into the vehicle. After loading the items into the victim’s vehicle, the suspect asked her for a ride and she agreed to do so. The victim gave the suspect a ride to the corner of McGee and Crockett Street. Once at this location, the suspect exited the vehicle and began removing his belongings from the victim’s vehicle. As the suspect removed his belongings from the vehicle, he robbed the victim by “strong arming” her. The victim suffered bodily injury during the robbery. During the incident, the suspect fled on foot. Due to the age of the victim being 65 or older, the robbery enhances to aggravated robbery, which is a felony of the first degree.
