Purple potty fundraiser aims to “flush out cancer”

May 14, 2011

There is a fund raiser taking place right now on behalf of Relay for Life that is truly aimed at “flushing out cancer.”
Pretty purple potties are popping up on properties across the county. With a fund raising campaign theme of “Flush Out Cancer!” the Pink Warriors Relay For Life of Hutchinson County team has come up with a truly unique idea to spread the word about Relay For Life and the fight to get rid of cancer.
For $15, a pretty purple potty will be placed in the yard of one’s choice. To have the potty removed, the recipient must pay $10. He or she can pay $20 and be guaranteed it will not make a return visit.
Kathie Harber, RFL of Hutchinson County co-chair, was a recipient of a pretty purple potty on her property Thursday morning.
“It is for a great cause and we are trying to raise money to find a cure,” she said. “Shelby’s mom is a survivor and Shelby is working hard to help in the fight. She is taking orders to deliver these to your friends and family. Join us in the battle to find a cure because cancer never sleeps until there is a cure.”
All of the proceeds from this fund raiser will benefit the American Cancer Society. For more information or to send a pretty purple potty to a friend or family member’s property, contact Shelby at 806-206-0786.
