PSP campuses holding activities this week

October 2, 2012

Due to bad weather and the county burn ban restriction, during the West Texas High School homecoming celebration the “igniting the spirit of the WT” was canceled. PSPCISD decided to reschedule this big event for Thursday.
This is also a celebration for PSPCISD for winning its homecoming game against White Deer (36- 6). The igniting will be held at the north parking lot by the Fieldhouse Gym from 8:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. (Time determined by darkness).
Also this week the West Texas Elementary is hosting a Bullying Awareness 5K Run/Walk.
Bullying is when a person is picked on over and over by a person or group with more power, either in terms of physical strength or social standing.
Every day thousands of kids wake up afraid to go to school. Bullying is a problem that affects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on its receiving end. Because parents, teachers, and other adults don't always see it, they may not understand how extreme bullying can get.
All kids and adults are encouraged to attend and see how bad bullying has gotten. This 5K walk/run is set for Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at WT Elementary. Anyone is welcome to attend. For more information, call 878-2858.
