Despite the cold conditions, the Borger Bulldog boys golf team shot an impressive 306 to extend their lead in the District 1-3A standings after the second round of the district tournament on Monday at the Phillips Golf Course.
The Bulldogs were led by senior Will Paulsell who followed his 69 from a week ago with a 72 to have a two-round total of 141, which places him 10 strokes ahead of Hunter Wade of Perryton for the overall lead.
Bulldog Golf Coach Clinton Grange commented, “I’m so proud of our team, it was tough playing conditions with the 36 degree temperature and wind. We definitely can improve on our scores, I just think that if we can get a break on the weather all the boys will go low. However, Will Paulsell continues to provide us senior leadership.”
On the girls side, Pampa currently holds the overall team lead. However. Borger’s Clarice Myers is the one currently sitting on top of the leader board with a two round total of 83-87-170.
The District 1-3A Tournament has two more rounds to be played with the next one taking place next Monday at Hidden Hills Golf Course in Pampa.
