PAMPA-There are times in sports when one miscue seems to start an avalanche that can be nearly impossible to overcome for a team.
Unfortunately, that is the scenario the Borger Lady Bulldogs found themselves in their District 1-3A opener loss to the Pampa Lady Harvester, 73-25.
Good three point shooting and 11 first period turnovers by the Lady Bulldogs opened the door for Pampa to use a 12-0 run to build a 7-27 lead after the first eight minutes of play.
To start the second period, the Lady Bulldogs tried to regroup with junior Emma Wood converting an old fashioned three point play and sophomore Breezy Brown putting points on the scoreboard at the free throw line.
However the turnover bug continued to plague the Lady Bulldogs, leading Pampa to build a 13-42 lead at halftime on their way to the big district opening win.
The loss drops the Lady Bulldogs to 4-15 overall and 0-1 in district play.
Borger will now need to put this loss behind them and focus on Friday when they travel up to Dalhart to take on the Lady Wolves.
