Pampa Harvesters pull away for 59-42 win over the Borger Bulldogs

On Friday evening, the Pampa Harvesters outscored the Borger Bulldogs 26-6 in the fourth period to get the 59-42 win in District 1-3A play.
Through three periods, the Bulldogs and Harvesters were in a back and forth in an entertaining contest, where the Bulldogs held a 36-34 lead going into the fourth period.
But ten Bulldog turnovers in the final period, opened the door for the Harvesters to go on a run and pull away for the double digit win.
The Bulldogs opened the game strong with Grant Boren nailing a three pointer to give Borger a 8-4 lead.
Pampa would hang around by nailing five three pointers in the first half, but it would be the Bulldogs going into the halftime break with the 24-23 lead on a Seth Rawlinson basket with two seconds left on the clock.
The third period was a back and forth contest between the Bulldogs and Harvesters with four lead changes. Jamon Hearon scored 10 points in the period to lead the Bulldogs who held a 36-34 lead after the third period.
But the fourth period opened with the Harvesters scoring 10 straight points on their way to the win.
The Bulldogs drop to 1-7 in district play, while Pampa improves to 5-3.
The Bulldogs conclude the 2011-12 season on Tuesday in Dalhart.
