Olen Holliman, 80, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in Amarillo.
Memorial Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 5631 Pavillard Dr. with Rev. Danny Lucas, pastor, and Gerald Owens, assoc. pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St.
Mr. Holliman was born in Roff, OK. He moved to Borger in 1949. He enlisted in the Navy in 1953. He was honorably discharged in 1956 as a Seaman after injuries he received during his service. He returned to Borger after being discharged from the Navy.
Mr. Holliman worked as a welder and maintenance supervisor for the J.M. Huber Carbon Black plant from 1958 until his retirement in 1988.
He moved to Amarillo 3 years ago from Borger. He was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church.
On June 13, 1982, Mr. Holliman married the love of his life, Penny.
They enjoyed eating out and spending special times with their family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; 4 daughters, Brenda Williams of Borger, Rhonda Nelson of Dewey, OK, Sophie McDougal of Lubbock and Patty Richards of Abilene; 2 sons, Leldon Holliman of Montrose, CO and Michael Holliman of Borger; 1 brother, Floyd Holliman of Borger; 1 sister Margaret Haney of Borger; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial donations to Interim Hospice Care, 1901 Medi Park Dr. Suite 1055 Amarillo, Texas 79106.
