Officials respond to unoccupied structure fire

Firefighters from the Borger Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Boyd Street Saturday evening. According to Fire Marshal Jerry Langwell, the structure was set on fire about a month ago. The second fire did complete damage to the structure. PHOTO BY DON RICE

On Saturday, April 14, 2012, an unoccupied house at 1311 Boyd was set to flames for a second time.
According to Fire Marshal Jerry Langwell, this wasn’t the first time the house was on fire.
“We are investigating it as suspicious nature. This house was on fire about a month ago,” Langwell said.
The second fire did complete damage to the structure, and it will have to be demolished.
Firefighters reached the scene at 10:10 p.m. and left at 1 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
