Officials respond to large structure fire

The Fritch Fire Department responded to a large structure fire Wednesday morning.
According to Hutchinson County Fire Marshal Danny Richards, a 911 call came in at 9:45 a.m. yesterday saying a home on the 300 block of Fritch Drive was on fire.
The Fritch Fire Department, PD and EMS responded to the fire. Once officials arrived on the scene of the fire, the home was fully engulfed in flames and the occupant was outside the hame with burn injuries on his head, neck, and face and suffering from smoke inhalation. He was transported by LifeStar to the Lubbock Burn Unit where he is in critical condition.
While fighting the fire at 11:45a.m., a firefighter was injured and sent to GPCH for treatment. The firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion, smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning. His condition is unknown. The house was fully extinguished at 1:25 p.m.
Richards suspects several pets perished in the fire. An investigation for the cause of the fire began yesterday afternoon ,and is still unknown. The victim is still unidentified. Watch the BNH for more information.
