ODESSA-On Thursday evening, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen lost to Odessa College in WJCAC basketball action in Odessa.

The Lady Plainsmen's control-the-clock style paid off for the team in the first half as they were able to go into the halftime break with a seven point lead, 22-15.
But in the second half, Odessa applied pressure on the defensive end, which resulted in ten second half Lady Plainsmen turnovers and 16 Lady Wrangler points.
La'Christa Nash led the Lady Plainsmen in scoring with 15 points, followed by Shardena Hudson scoring 10.
The Lady Plainsmen go to 6-17 overall, and 0-7 in WJCAC play.

In the WJCAC opener on January 16th, the Plainsmen came close to knocking off #10 Odessa College at the BCAC, 89-84.
In the rematch on Thursday in Odessa, the Wranglers jumped out early to build a 14-point lead at halftime. But the Plainsmen fought back to open the second half with a 7-0 run and were in the game before the Wranglers were able to pull away in the final four minutes.
Taquan McDew led the Plainsmen with 20 points, followed by Greg Nelson and Ronald Scott scoring 19.
The Plainsmen drop to 9-15 overall, 1-7 in WJCAC play.
The Lady Plainsmen and Plainsmen return to the court on Monday hosting Western Texas College. The Lady Plainsmen will start at 5:45 p.m. followed by the Plainsmen at 7:30 p.m.
