Nursing home replat approved

December 8, 2011

A replat of property for the construction of a nursing home in Borger has received official city approval.
During its regular meeting Tuesday, the Borger City Council approved the replat of Blocks 2 & 3, North Park Addition, containing 10.76 acres, to be known as Borger Nursing Facility Subdivision, 900 College Avenue. The request for the replat was made by P&B Senior Living Group, LLC, of Fort Smith, Ark.
Kenneth Petr, Director of Planning and Zoning for the City of Borger, said the nursing home will be a 120-bed facility.
Right now, plans are to build a nursing home, but plans for an assisted living facility may be made sometime in the future. The replat was discussed at the recent meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Construction plans are currently under review. Petr said he was waiting for the plat to be approved and move forward with building permits and things of that nature.
At a council meeting in late November, Petr was asked by Mayor Jeff Brain how long construction would take. Petr said construction would most likely begin as soon as the replat was approved. He said he was unsure how long it will take, but he anticipates around a year since it will be a sizable building.
A public hearing was held during the meeting, but there were no comments made.
