The United States Secret Service came to Borger - one agent at least.
Don Savage of the Secret Service was the featured guest at the Borger Rotary Club on Tuesday afternoon. He has been with the service for 10 years, and prior to that he worked as a police officer in Omaha, Neb.
He lives in the Lubbock area with his wife of 21 years and three teenage sons.
Savage said most people think of Secret Service as simply protection of the president, but the service is also involved in the investigation of financial crimes, which include credit card fraud, bank fraud, check fraud, and counterfeiting.
The Secret Service has a dual mission, which includes protection for the president, vice-president, former presidents, presidential candidates, and foreign dignitaries; and its investigations division.
