NEWS: Trash bash taking place this week

April 1, 2013

Wendell McWilliams, Al Vasquez, and loader Wayne Hurst work with some of the loads of trash that have been brought to the Borger Transfer Station during Trash Bash week, which started today. The event will go through this Saturday. The City of Borger is sponsoring a free week for county residents to bring their trash to the transfer station.
Free disposal of up to eight passenger tires will also be available for residential customers only. Proof of residential address is required to receive this service. All other tires will be charged for at the regular rate. Additional passenger car tires up to 17 inches will cost $2 for disposal. Truck tires 17 to 24 inches will cost $9. Motorgrader and front end loader tires will cost $60, and farm equipment (tractor) tires will cost $75.
The transfer station and tree limb disposal area will both be open Tuesday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
