April 2, 2013

Further details have been released by the Borger Police Department pertaining to a car/motorcycle wreck that occurred late Thursday evening.
Lt. Anthony Griffin of the BPD said that a 1998 blue Toyota four-door vehicle was traveling northbound in the 300 block of South Cedar and a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Ray Eller, 50, of Borger, was traveling southbound along the same road.
The vehicle attempted a left turn onto Bulldog Boulevard. The motorcycle struck the car and Eller was ejected from the motorcycle. The vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way to the motorcycle.
Eller later died of injuries sustained in the wreck.
Lt. Griffin said that an investigation is ongoing into the cause of the wreck. The department is unable to release the name of the driver of the vehicle, as there has been some confusion pertaining to who was behind the wheel at the time of the wreck.
The Borger Police Department will continue to release information as it becomes available.
