The Borger Chamber of Commerce Board recently met to make plans for the upcoming year. Residents are encouraged to take note of these major event dates and make calendar plans ahead of time to take part in these events.
The Borger Chamber of Commerce will hold their Annual Banquet on April 4th, Thursday, at the BCAC on the Frank Phillips College Campus. The Banquet is open to the public and tickets are now available at the Borger Chamber of Commerce office at 613. N. Main. The banquet is a time to enjoy a great meal and entertainment, visit with community/business members and celebrate various awards including the Citizen of the Year.
The Borger Summer Celebration date is set for Friday, June 21st at Huber Park. Area visitors and residents can enjoy fun, food and meeting with many groups at the Park in a summertime activity. This is an excellent time to have a booth and raise funds for clubs, groups, or organizations.
The Annual Christmas Parade will be held on Monday, December 2nd. Preplanning may be needed by groups wishing to have an entry in the Parade as this Monday falls right after the Thanksgiving holidays.
Leadership Borger will enter the 27th year of helping to build leaders for Borger. Leadership Borger is an eight month (one-day a month) educational effort in which participants learn in-depth information about their community and enhance their leadership skills. Registration takes place in August with classes starting in September.
