Borger PD is seeking answers in connection with a robbery that occurred on New Year’s Eve.
The robbery occurred the morning of Saturday, December 31, 2011 around 7 a.m. at Allsup’s 416 W. Wilson. Lieutenant Anthony Griffin stated three employees were inside during the incident at the rear of the store, and one employee was taking out the trash through the back door.
As the employee was entering back into the store, she was grabbed from behind by the armed suspect. The suspect, described as wearing a white ski mask, black jacket, and gloves, demanded the money from the store. A store employee then handed the suspect the money demanded.
The robber then backed up to the back door, released the hostage, and then fled with a substantial amount of money from the store. As soon as the suspect had exited the store, the employees closed and locked the door and immediately contacted 911. None of the employees were injured during the incident.
“The Borger Police Department, as well as Crime Stoppers, is seeking any help and any relevant information about this robbery,” said Griffin.
He continued to say that if anyone has any information and/or knowledge of this robbery they are asked and encouraged to contact the Borger Police Department at 806-273-0930 or contact Crime Stoppers at 806-274-6371. Crime Stoppers offers rewards ranging from $50.00 up to $1,000.00 for any relevant information about an outstanding crime and ongoing investigation.
