National Day of Prayer set for May 3

April 27, 2012

The National Day of Prayer ceremony in Borger is less than a week away!
Charlotte Martin, who is coordinating the event, said the public is invited to attend the ceremony, set for 12 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Veteran’s Memorial in Huber Park.
“This year’s theme is ‘One Nation Under God’ and the scripture is Psalms 33:12: ‘Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord,’” she said. “The 2012 Honorary Chair is Dr. David Jeremiah.”
Local individuals will offer prayers based on the seven points of prayer. These points are family, church, military, government, education, business, and media.
Special music will be provided by the Ministerial Fellowship, and hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided for those attending.
Martin asks that those who cannot attend still make time to observe the National Day of Prayer.
“If you are unable to attend the ceremony, please make time to stop and pray for our Nation,” she said.
