LUBBOCK-The 2011 season for the Borger Lady Bulldogs can be described as one that was pretty challenging on and off the floor.
Despite the ups and downs, the Lady Bulldogs found a way to put together a nice playoff run reaching the 3A Regional Quarterfinals, where they met up with the Monahans Lady Lobos in Lubbock on Tuesday evening.
Despite hanging tough in each game, the Lady Lobos ended the Lady Bulldogs season in three games 25-15, 25-21, 25-20.
The Lady Bulldogs end the 2011 season with a 22-20 record.
The team will lose four seniors who played key roles in Eakins, Kristen Mills, Bethany Harris, and Allyson Burrows. However, the Lady Bulldogs will return a good nucleus of talent, which should make the team tough in 2012.
Borger stat leaders against Monahans: Kills-Raygen Eakins 5, Nellie Embers 4, Emma Wood 4, Haley Armstrong 4; Blocks-Wood 9, Embers 6; Digs-Bethany Harris 13, Nicole McMurry 5, Maggie McMurry 5; Assists-Kristen Mills 15, Embers 2; Aces-Harris 2, Embers 2.
