Missing Borger girl returns home safely

November 18, 2013

Melissa Graves, the fifteen year old Borger girl who went missing last Monday night has returned home to her family.

Graves, who left her home in the middle of the night a week ago, was spotted at a home owned by relatives of her alleged boyfriend, according to Debbie Goforth, the girl’s mother. After police were contacted, says the mom, Graves panicked and left through a back exit, making her way back home around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

Graves is safe, though she had cut her hair and removed her braces in order to change her appearance and evade efforts to find her. Goforth said she will pursue police action against those who harbored her daughter.

Goforth said she would like to thank everyone in the community who aided in the search, those and on social media sites like Facebook who shared the girls photo and put pressure on those who concealed the girl’s whereabouts.
