On Monday evening, the No. 18-ranked Midland College women’s basketball team scored 55 points in the second half to pull away for an 87-64 victory over the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen at the BCAC.
The game was the final home game in a Lady Plainsmen uniform for seven sophomores.
The Lady Plainsmen started the game strong to play to a 32-32 tie at halftime.
The Lady Plainsmen had the hot hand from the outside where they hit 14 3-pointers in the game.
Unfortunately the momentum the Lady Plainsmen had in the first half didn’t carry over in the second half, as Midland College found their groove offensively to pull way for the win.
La’Christa Nash led the Lady Plainsmen with 22 points followed by Laura Martinez chipping in 14.
The Lady Plainsmen are 8-21 overall, 0-11 in conference and will wrap up the 2011-12 season on Thursday in Big Spring against Howard College.
