Midland College sweeps Lady Plainsmen on Saturday

April 23, 2012

On Saturday afternoon, Midland College won both of their WJCAC games against the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen, 6-1 and 16-3.
In game one, Lucinda Ponce hit a home run in the third inning, but the big hit would be just one of the two hits the Lady Plainsmen would get in the game.
After scoring two runs in the first inning, Midland College started to pull away by adding a run in both the third and fourth innings.
The Lady Plainsmen finally got some offensive production in game two by scoring three runs off of six hits. But Midland College jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the second inning on their way to the big 16-3 win.
The Lady Plainsmen are 12-36 overall and will wrap up the regular season and WJCAC play this weekend hosting Clarendon College on Saturday and traveling to Clarendon on Sunday.
