Borger – Funeral services for Melvin Eugene Kaylor, Sr., 77, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Jerry Lane, former Pastor officiating and assisted by Rev. Earl Burkholder, Pastor. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Kaylor died Thursday at his home.
Melvin was born in Bixby, OK and had lived in Borger since 1962. He married Betty Price July 14, 1951 in Lubbock, TX. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Organization and was in the Old Timers Ping Pong League. Melvin loved fishing, bowling and golf. He worked many years for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
He is survived by his wife Betty, one son Melvin E. Kaylor, Jr. and wife Jeanie of Borger, his daughter Roxanna Blakely and husband Steve of Borger, 3 Grandchildren Meredith Kaylor Sarchet and Brandon, Brad Kaylor and Lydia, Kristin Winegar and Chris, 3 Great-Grandchildren Kaylor, Adrian and Jacque.
