Margaret Tignor Robbins Rector, 92,
of Amarillo, TX, died Sunday, Nov 24, 2013.
Memorial services will be at 10 AM, Saturday, Jan. 4,
2014, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by
Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.,
Amarillo, TX.
Margaret was born Jan.1, 1921, to an early pioneer Panhandle
family. She had one sister, Beryl Carss. She graduated
from Pampa High School and graduated from the University
of Texas with a BA degree in 1941. After moving back to
Pampa, she married Ray Robbins, who was the Pampa High
School Band Director. They were married on Aug 18, 1943.
He preceded her in death. She taught math in Fritch, Phillips, and Amarillo for 21 years. She
married Harold Rector on Jan. 1, 2003.
She is survived by her husband Harold Rector; two sons, Ray L Robbins Jr. and Charles
Robbins; two grandchildren, Stacy Robbins and Craig Robbins, two great-grandchildren,
Alexis Robbins and Tristan Robbins; and two stepdaughters, Susanne and Sharon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Ray Robbins Scholarship
Fund, at Frank Phillips College, P.O. Box 5118, Borger, TX 79008, for students in the area.
