Mace Hollis Jones, 88, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating. Interment will follow in the “Garden of Love” at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mace was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Soper, Okla., to Jim and Maudie Jones. He was serving in the United States Army during WW II and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Mace married Mary Ferris on Feb. 29, 1944, in Wheeler, and he has lived in the Borger and Fritch area since 1946. He was an electrician for Phillips Petroleum Co., where he retired. Mace loved being around his family more than anything.
Mace was preceded in death by his wife Mary on Jan. 27, 2010, his parents, and eight siblings.
Survivors include a son, Bob Jones and wife Sherron of Skellytown, three daughters, Debi Anderson, Linda Poston, Rena Mitchell and husband Steve, all of Borger; two sisters, Maudie “Bill” Smith and husband Vaughn, and Nadine Oldham, both of Amarillo; twelve grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family will be at 1112 Monroe St.
