Lou Hatfield, 85 of Borger died on July 2 in Borger. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, at Faith Covenant Church with Pastor Les Sharp officiating. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the funeral home.
Lou was born Nov. 26, 1928 in Weinert, Texas to James and Willie Rainey Swailes. She was a medical clerk at Maloney-Hogan Hospital in Big Spring, TX for 10 years. She was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Amarillo. She loved to read books , mostly novels, her bible every day. She was very active in church conferences where she was a Delegate for West Texas Methodist.
Lou was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore Hatfield; and a sister, Wanda Bibby.
The family  wants to say thank you to Caprock Nursing and Rehabilitation and Hospice Care of the Southwest.
Lou is survived by her sons, Richard of Amarillo,  Rand and wife, Becky, of Borger, and Larry and wife, Shelah, of Nevada. Seven grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Boys Ranch.
