Local officials investigating several weekend fires

Officials are currently investigating several fires that burned in Hutchinson County throughout this weekend.
During the weekend, there was a total of 18 reported fires.
On Saturday June 25, 2011, a total of 10 fires broke out two miles south of Stinnett on Highway 152 around noon. Then, four more fires were reported at 12:05 p.m. on Highway 687 the same day.
Firefighters from Stinnett, Fritch, Borger, and Hutchinson County also responded to a fire that started from a downed electrical line.
On Sunday, June 26, 2011, around 2 p.m., more fires broke out on Highway 152. Between all of the fires, there was a total of about 200 acres of land burned, along with some fence damage.
The fires are still under investigation, but arson is suspected.
Hutchinson County Fire Marshal Danny Richards stated that a $1,000 reward will be offered to anyone with information pertaining to the causes of the fires.
