Local family in need of support from community

November 21, 2012

A local family is in need of community support.
Shawn and Whitney Reeves were proud parents on Oct. 6, 2012, by giving birth to their daughter Sunni Nicole Reeves. Shortly after her birth, she was diagnosed with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia and has since gone through around seven surgeries.
According to Facebook, her parents found a medical institution in Houston to get Sunni the care she needs. Shawn and Whitney also have two small boys attending school, Ryder and Cooper, so they both travel back and forth to give their time and attention evenly to their children.
Family and friends of the Reeves family have started a fundraising auction on Facebook to gather funds for help with medical bills and travel expenses. On this page you can click on photos and bid on the item. This auction will end on Dec. 1 at 11:59 p.m.
The page creators are in search of donated items or services to auction off and 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Reeves family. To see auction items and bid on them see: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/SunniReevesFundraiserAuction or directly donate to Sunni’s account set up at Pantex Federal Credit Union.
You can also read updates about Sunni at http://sunnisstory.blogspot.com/2012/11/still-looking-up.html.
If you or anyone you know want to give items or services to be auctioned off, call Amber Mincey at (806) 231-7714 or Aundrea Montague at (806) 341-0225.
“I want to thank you all for the prayers. I know I say it every time but I love you all and appreciate them from the bottom of my heart. For specific prayers you can pray for her lungs to continue to improve and be able to go lower and lower on the vent, for her pain to stay under control with the lowering of her drips, and her bile to lessen so that she may get fed soon. These are my top three prayers right now so please join me,” said Sunni’s mother.
