Linda Garrett, 64, of Fritch went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at St Andrew Methodist Church in Buena Vista, with Ted & Jody Wilson and Pastor John Westman officiating. Arrangements are by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors, Fritch, TX.
Mrs. Garrett was born January 8, 1948, in Amarillo to Bluford and Dorothy Turner.
Linda married Jesse Garrett in Vega on November 5, 1963. She was a homemaker and later was employed at Amarillo Police Dept. After obtaining her degree in special education, she worked for Amarillo Independent School District and. Sanford Fritch ISD and with the National Park Service. Linda was dedicated to her family, friends, churchâ€™s ministries, Relay for Life and the Red Hat Society. Her main passion in life was loving the Lord Jesus Christ. Linda was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband after 44 years of marriage.
Survivors include four children; sons, Jack Garrett and wife Myra and Jerry Garrett, all of Amarillo, and Jeff Garrett of Missouri; a daughter, Loretta Forbis and husband Chris of Canyon; one sister, Betty Kelley of Big Springs; one brother, Wayne Turner of Amarillo; ten grandchildren, Bo Garrett, Amber Garrett, Lindsey Garrett, Ashley Pratt, Christian Bovee, Cody Garrett, Jordan Garrett, Katelyn Garrett, Tristan Forbis and Marissa Garrett; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Pratt, Samuel Bovee and Khloe Bovee; a faithful companion Shania; and many, many beloved friends.
There will be an open visitation from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, October 1, 2012, and the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors in Fritch.
