Lillian Rosella Powell, 91, of Borger, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 in Borger, TX.
Lillian Rosella Powell was born Friday, November 26, 1920 in Jones County, TX to Joseph William Reed and Rilla (Pierce) Reed. Mrs. Powell retired from Borger Independent School District working in food services. Mrs. Powell was an excellent cook, especially of pastries and rolls. Everyone knew Lillian by her homemade rolls. Lillian was an active member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Lillian Reed married Henry Powell on August 27, 1938 in Ralls, TX. They came to Borger in 1944, where they made their home.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Powell on June 4, 2001; her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Powell and wife Velma of Amarillo, TX, Wayne Powell and wife Phyllis of Borger, TX; one daughter, Dorothy Prater and husband Ed of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren, Terry Prater and wife Lisa of Katy, TX, Mike Prater and wife Tracy of Georgetown, TX, Edward Powell and wife Melinda of Amarillo, TX, Paulette McCarter and husband Randy of Quinlan, TX, Dan Powell and Rick Powell both of Borger, TX and Bill Powell of Houston, TX; two sisters, Fannie Ashley of Plainview, TX and Frances Foster of Kress, TX; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with Pastor Ted Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Powell will lie in state at Brown Chapel Of The Fountains on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 8:00AM to 6:00PM, with family visitation Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM.
