Lilburn “PeeWee” Forrest Ritter

AMARILLO - Lilburn “PeeWee” Forrest Ritter, 76, died March 30, 2011, in Amarillo, TX.Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating.Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mr. Ritter was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Groom. He attended schools in Grandview. He married Fern Canady on Aug. 28, 1955, in Clayton, N.M. Lilburn served in the U. S. Army for four years as a mechanic and the colonel’s driver. He was honorably discharged with the rank of E-4. He was employed by PAN Resources in Borger for 45 years, retiring when he was 66 years of age. Lilburn loved spending time with his grandchildren and he was a loving father and proud grandfather. He enjoyed camping and fishing.Survivors include two sons, Allen Ritter and Eric Ritter, both of Borger; three grandchildren, Kenny Treakle and Zack Ritter, both of Columbus, Ohio; and Isaya Allen Forrest Ritter of Borger; one great-grandchild Seth Treakle of Columbus, Ohio; four sisters, Norma Jean Baxter of Grand Prairie, Erma Britten and husband Bud of White Deer, Lilie May Carney and husband Jerry, and Ina Rea Brown and husband Bob, all of Amarillo; two close family friends, Fern Ritter of Pampa and Bertha Zapata of Borger; and several nieces and nephews.
