FRITCH - Leonard Lee Pittman, 79, of Fritch, died May 11, 2011, in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Nazarene Church in Borger with Rev. Dale Pierce and Rev. J. W. Frazier officiating. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Leonard was born Nov. 19, 1931, at Gray, Okla., to Amcy and Ethel Pittman. He married Johnnie Mills on Nov. 20, 1949, at Perryton. He worked for Fasco Industry as a industrial mechanic for 18 yrs.
He farmed and was involved in his church. He was a pilot and loved to fly and soloed at 21 years of age.
He helped build a Vari-EZE airplane with a friend in the 1980s. He received his pilotâ€™s license in Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
He is survived by his wife Johnnie of the home, son Terrell and wife Lisa of Bella Vista, Ark., daughters, Kathy Thompson and husband Jerry of Bella Vista, Ark. Sherri Hollis of Leavenworth, Kan., eight Grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Fritch. Memorials may be made to Gideons or Odyssey Hospice, 5900 W. Interstate 40, #150, Amarillo 79106.
