L. D. “Dick” Greene Jr., 72, of Stinnett, died Saturday August 20, 2011, in Borger.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview Baptist Church with Preacher Jimmy Gillmore officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Dick was born Sept. 23, 1938, at Slidell, Texas, to L. D. Greene Sr. and Dera Hopkins Greene. He was a longtime resident of the area where he was a superintendent in the oil field for 40 years. He married Sonja Sorrells Aug. 20, 1957, at Stinnett. They were married 54 years. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. His passion was his family and friends. He loved to do metal artwork and getting simple pleasures from his pets. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Maezelle Kainer.
He is survived by his wife Sonja of the home, sons, Dave and wife Kellie Greene of Amarillo, Texas; and Rodney and wife Dalene Greene of Borger, daughter Kathy and husband John Pratt of Borger, sisters, Vernelle Evans of Amarillo and Monnie Hedgecoke of Borger, grandchildren, Daniel Greene, Matt Greene, Curtis Greene, Kyle Irvin, Haley Beardemphl, Terrance Pratt, Brittany Hinz, Chase Herriman, and Brigan Wheat, and two great-grandchildren.
