On Tuesday afternoon, the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen traveled to Kansas for a doubleheader with Garden City Community College. The Lady Plainsmen got the comeback win in game one, but came up short in the dayâ€™s final contest.

The Lady Plainsmen got their first win of the 2012 season when they scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to get the 3-2 win over Garden City CC.
Sophomore Christine Blankenship scored the game winning two-run double, bringing in Arleen Alamanza and Janelle Smith.
The Lady Plainsmen got on the scoreboard first when Alamanza brought in Smith on a fielderâ€™s choice in the top of the first inning.
Garden City responded by scoring two runs in the bottom half of the first inning and held the lead until the seven inning.
Sophomore Cheyenne Ford got the win in the pitcherâ€™s circle for the Lady Plainsmen allowing two earned runs on five hits, while striking out six batters.

The Lady Plainsmen were never able to get over the hump in game two in their 8-6 loss, after falling behind by four runs in the second inning.
The Lady Plainsmen scored on a two-run home run by Lucinda Ponce in the third inning, and an RBI single by Madilyne Logan in the sixth inning and seventh innings. Despite its efforts, the comeback came up short.
Ponce racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Lady Plainsmen.
Garden City Community College came out swinging, scoring three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of Frank Phillips College early.
Jaclyn Annis racked up three RBIs on four hits for Garden City Community College. Annis singled in the first, third, fifth, and sixth innings.
The Lady Plainsmen go to 1-3 for the season.
The Lady Plainsmen will finally play a series at home on Friday hosting Western Oklahoma State College in a doubleheader, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
