Lady Eagles lose tough one to Spearman

On Friday night, the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles traveled north to Spearman to play for first place in District 1-2A.
The Lady Eagles sitting 14-8 and 2-0 in district were looking for a good matchup with the Lynxxettes.
Sanford-Fritch started off slow and quickly saw Spearman go ahead 6-2.
The Lady Eagles took a quick timeout to refocus and a Jacy Judd score tied the game at 6-6.
The Lynxxettes played good defense and controlled the boards very well the entire game.
The first quarter score ended at 13-9 with Spearman leading.
The second quarter was relatively equal in scoring by both teams.
The Lady Eagles couldn’t pull ahead and didn’t get any second shot rebounds.
Halftime, Spearman went to the locker room with score of 22-17.
The second half was a turnover fest for both squads. Missed shots and bad passes allowed Spearman to keep their lead. Final score 37-29 for Spearman.
Sanford-Fritch fought hard and stayed close to Spearman even despite poor play.
The Lady Eagles need to refocus for they host a tough Bushland team on Tuesday.
