Lady Dawgs dominate in district opener

The Lady Dawgs played brilliantly in their win over district opponent Dalhart on Tuesday night in Borger. This was the district opener for both teams. The Lady Dawgs won in straight sets, 25-22, 25-22, and 25-19.
Senior Haley Armstrong led the team with 10 kills, while Emma Wood, Kaylee Purcell, and Katie Ammerman all had 4. Nellie Embers had 3 kills before she went out with her injury. Nicole McMurry finished with 14 assists, and Blaine Hill added 4. Armstrong led the team in aces with 3, Wood, Maggie McMurry, and Tootie Karins all had 2 a piece. Purcell had 4 blocks at the net and Wood had 2. M. McMurry finished with 12 digs, and Stephanie Soto came up with 8.

Game notes:
Junior Nellie Embers went down with an ankle injury early in the second set.
The game featured 12 aces from seven different players for Borger.
Dalhart scored 11 straight points in the second set before the Lady Dawgs killed it to win it.

The Lady Dawgs will travel to Pampa on Saturday for their next district matchup. Game starts at 2pm.
