Lady Comanches overpower River Road, 16-6

Tuesday evening in Amarillo, the West Texas High Lady Comanches had no problems getting the win over Amarillo River Road 16-6 in non-district softball action.
The Lady Comanches racked up 13 hits, while senior Abby Summers had a solid game in the pitcher’s circle limiting the Lady Wildcats to three hits, striking out six batters, to go along with six walks.
The Lady Comanches didn’t waste any time getting on the scoreboard by bringing in seven runs in the top of the first inning.
In the top of the second inning, the Lady Comanches put the game out of reach by scoring nine more runs and forcing the ten-run rule after the fifth inning.
Five Lady Comanches had two RBIs including Summers, Flaharity, Devin DeLapp, Raven Gilreath-Giron, and Rebekah Wallace.
DeLapp also had a triple in the game, while Natalie Franklin hit a double.
The Lady Comanches improve to 8-5 on the season and will open District 6-1A play on Saturday hosting Booker beginning at 1:00 p.m.
