Lady Comanches drop district opener to Claude

On Monday afternoon, the Claude Lady Mustangs scored 11 runs in the fourth inning allowing the team to pull away for the 18-7 win over the West Texas High Lady Comanches in District 6-1A play.
The game went back and forth through the first three innings, with the Lady Comanches holding a 6-5 lead.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Lady Comanches extended their lead to 7-5. But a big bottom of the fourth inning by Claude gave the Lady Mustangs a commanding 7-16 lead to set up the 10-run rule after adding two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Abbey Rios had a home run, while Devin DeLapp, Erin Summers, and Natalie Franklin each had doubles at the plate for the Lady Comanches.
The Lady Comamches drop to 8-7 overall and start district play 0-1. The team will return to the field on Saturday at Follett beginning with the first pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
