On Tuesday night, the Borger Lady Bulldogs won their 2011-12 home opener against the White Deer Lady Bucks 58-42 at Tex Hanna Gym.
The game featured some sloppy play that is expected arly in the season, including a lot of turnovers and cold shooting. But the young Lady Bulldogs showed that this team potentially will be a fun one to watch all season, due to solid play on both ends of the court.
In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs came out playing more aggressive on both ends of the court.
Sophomore Nellie Embers had the hot hand in the second half, scoring 15 of her 17 points for the game.
The win takes the Lady Bulldogs record to 1-1 and the team will next take part in the Amarillo Highland Park Tournament starting on Thursday.
Borger team stats: 2PT 19/63 for 30 %; 3PT 3/5 for 60%; Total FG 22/68 for 32%; FT 10/14 for 71%; Total rebounds 43; Turnovers 17
