Lady Bulldogs end season against Perryton

February 8, 2012

On Tuesday evening, the Borger Lady Bulldogs wrapped up their 2011-12 season with a 40-15 loss to the Perryton Rangerettes at Tex Hanna Gym.
Seniors Holly Jones, Vanessa Jones, and DevAnn Jackson took to the court for the last time as Lady Bulldogs with the trio combining for six rebounds and two points in the game.
The Lady Bulldogs opened the game playing the district leading Rangerettes tough with freshman Tiffanie Prater hitting a three pointer while Emma Wood did a good job near the basket.
The Lady Bulldogs struggled to get much offense going in the second period, but solid defense kept them in striking distance with a halftime score of 9-18.
As the third period got underway, the Rangerettes started to get into a groove by outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 12-3 to take a commanding lead into the fourth period.
The Lady Bulldogs wrap up the season with a 4-23 record. But the future looks bright for the varsity team as eight players are expected to return for the team next season, along with a solid group of junior varsity and freshmen players coming up the pipeline.
