Kohler resigns as FPC Head Softball Coach

On Thursday, Jenneffer Kohler turned in her resignation as Head Coach of the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen softball program.
Kohler spent three years as the head coach that included posting a 10-35 record in 2011 and leading the Lady Plainsmen to their first ever appearance in the Region V Tournament.
According to Frank Phillips College Athletic Coordinator April Plagge, assistant coach Lucas Grider has been named as the new coach of the FPC Softball program.
Grider is coming off his first season as an assistant coach with the Lady Plainsmen. Grider spent four years as the head softball coach of the Georgetown-Ridge Farm-Chrisman Cooperative, in Georgetown, Ill. Before that Grider spent two years as the first assistant coach and pitching coach at Louisburg College in Louisburg, N.C. and was an assistant coach at Danville Area Community College in Danville, Ill. Coach Grider earned his undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and his graduate degree from Indiana State University.
During her time at Frank Phillips College, Kohler led the effort to update the two softball fields used by the team in the Johnson Park area.
The resignation of Kohler marks the fourth coaching change at Frank Phillips College since March.
