John C. “Tuffy” Lanham

John C. “Tuffy” Lanham, 80, of Dumas, passed away, Thursday, March 17, 2011.
John Calvin Lanham was born Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1931, in Beckham County, Okla., to Nolan and Gladys (Griffin) Lanham. He married Ernestine Groves on Oct. 31, 1952, in Borger. “Tuffy” worked as a maintenance supervisor for Phillips Petroleum.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Barbara DeMoss; and great-grandson Aaron Patrick Saiz.
Survivors include his wife Ernestine; son Noland E. Lanham and wife Cynthia of Amarillo; son Kenneth D. Lanham and wife Georgia of Dumas; daughter Lynn Johnson of Dumas; son James A. Lanham and wife Kelli of Dumas; two brothers, Carold R. Lanham and wife Bobbie of Amarillo, and Kenneth O. Lanham and wife Jean of Borger; one sister, Evelyn Dewiggins of Chandler, Ariz.; one brother-in-law, Rodney DeMoss of Borger, TX; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011, at Temple Baptist Church in Dumas. Burial will follow at Northlawn Cemetery in Dumas.
