Jimmy Strasia, 83, of Fritch, died Saturday Sept. 29, 2012, in Amarillo, Texas.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Jimmy was born April 23, 1929, at Sugarite, N.M., to James and Francis Milich Strasia. He served in the US Army during Korea, serving in the Battery B 4th AAA Gun Battallion. He had been a Fritch resident since 1964 and a member of St. John’s Catholic Chruch. He married Dorthy Chambers Nov. 7, 1975, in Stinnett. She preceded him in death in 2007 and also his parents. He worked for CIG as a well tender and operator until he retired.
He is survived by a daughter Brenda Taylor and husband John of Fritch, son Gilbert White and wife Sue of Fritch, sisters, Helen Morrello of Sunnyvale, Calif. and Shirley Miller of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
