Jimmie Savage, 81, of Amarillo, passed away, Sunday, March 11, 2012.
Jimmie Elijah Savage was born August 29, 1930 in Paducah, TX to Elijah and Lillie (Burns) Savage. He married Rachel McCool on August 16, 1952 in Clovis, NM. He was an Instrument Man for Phillips Petroleum for 37 years. Jimmie was chairman for the Union, a lifetime member of the Borger Elks Lodge and coached the Borger Colt League for ten years. Rachel and Jimmie were longtime residents of Borger for over fifty years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Guy and sister-in-law, Lois Savage.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel; two daughters, Mary Deiss and husband Tommy of Fort Worth, TX and Patty Hill of Santee, CA; one brother, Kenneth Savage and wife Barbara of Borger, TX; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, March 16, 2012 at Westlawn Memorial Cemetery in Borger, TX with Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating.
Mr. Savage will lie in state at Brown Chapel in Borger on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 and Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 8:00AM to 8:00PM. Family visitation will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
