Jerry Alan James

Jerry Alan James, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Borger, Texas. He was born February 14th, 1949 in Durant, Oklahoma. Jerry graduated from Borger High School in 1969. He married Jackie Florer on October 19, 1993. Jerry was baptized in a non-denominational Christian church as a young man and believed that God had a purpose for him.
He found that purpose in the Texas Army Reserve National Guard as an Infantryman and junior NCO, which he proudly told everyone, he was a “grunt.”

Jerry retired from the National guard after having served 24 years and then he went on to serve 3 years in the Texas State Guard as a Military Police Squad Leader. He was a lifetime member for over 25 years with the American Legion Post 671 in Borger. Jerry also worked in private security for a number of years.
Jerry is survived by his wife Jackie of the home. He is predeceased by his parents Earnest and Arlene James, both of whom were formerly of Durant, Oklahoma and Borger, Texas. Jerry will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Hall in Borger with Edwin Scott officiating. The memorial service will be held Saturday, August 24th, 2013 at 10:00am.
